Abstract:
One of the most widely used themes in contemporary poetry, and one of the concerns of contemporary poets is to address social issues and problems. The socio-political unrest and turmoil of the contemporary world and the various currents of thought that govern societies are among the main factors that turn poets to socio-political themes in contemporary poetry. This research explains the socio-political themes in the poetry of Abolghasem Al-Shabi, a contemporary poet of the Arab world, and Mirzadeh Eshghi, a contemporary poet of Persian literature. Although Eshghi has a more explicit accent than Shabi and refers directly to the socio-political issues of his time and has more hope than Shabi for the reform of society, but the comparison of the poems of the two shows that both poets are inspired by a source. Both have acted as a social reformer, using poetry as a means of exercising power, not as a repressive force but as a directing force.
