The Study Measure Acquaintance and Used Students Graduate of the Veterinary Medicine College, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, of Vancouver Style in citation of the proposal writing
The main objective of this study was to measure the level of acquaintance and usage of Vancouver style in codifying proposals among graduate students of Veterinary Medicine at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. Additionally, it aimed to measure their level of acquaintance and usage in different disciplines such as basic sciences, pathobiology, clinical sciences, health, and food.
This was an applied survey study, where data collection tools included a researcher-made questionnaire based on a literature review and the Kahn Proposal Assessment Checklist. The sample consisted of 265 postgraduate and PhD students from the Veterinary Medicine college who were selected using non-proportional stratified sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics.
There is a significant difference between the degree of familiarity of graduate students with the elements related to the formulation of the proposal of the Vancouver style in different academic trends of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Basic Sciences, Pathobiology, Clinical Sciences, Food and Aquatic Health). There is a significant difference related to the compilation of the proposal of the Vancouver style book in the master's degree / general doctorate and specialized doctorate. There is a significant difference between graduate students' use of the elements related to the proposal development of the Vancouver Vancouver style in different academic disciplines (Basic Sciences, Pathobiology, Clinical Sciences, Food and Aquatic Health). According to Vancouver's style s, there is a significant difference between master's degree / Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Ph.D.
Postgraduate students should use the elements of the Vancouver style, but their average score indicates that they did not have a favorable situation in using the elements of the Vancouver style. The results of this research can lead to the awareness of scientific groups and library about the quality level of theses in terms of scientific writing.
