Abstract:

In recent years, the environments that cause relaxation and mental health have been given more attention. The presence of green spaces and the movement of senses in urban and neighborhood environments have received more attention than before. The sense of smell is one of the main ways of communicating with the surrounding environment. The sense of smell can create feelings such as happiness, sadness, peace, love, and even hunger. The purpose of this research is to find the missing link between the olfactory landscape and happiness. The research is qualitative and the content has been systematically reviewed and analyzed. A comprehensive review of existing knowledge and published articles on the Iranian smells cape, happiness, and garden is to promote these topics and connections in this field for future research. This literature and background review helps to explain the emerging results. The results of this study indicate that the Persian garden is a smells cape. The findings show that the missing link between the olfactory landscape and happiness is the Iranian garden.
