The Effectiveness of Training Focused on Compassion on Cognitive Flexibility, Intimacy and Quality of Marital Relationships of women with Marital Conflicts
This research was conducted with the aim of the effectiveness of training focused on compassion on cognitive flexibility, intimacy and quality of marital relationships of women with marital conflicts.
The research method was quasi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of the research was women with marital conflicts, 30 of whom were purposefully selected and randomly divided into two experimental and control groups (15 people in each group). The experimental group received 8 sessions (once a week) of self-compassion techniques based on Gilbert's training package, and the control group did not receive training in this field. In this research, questionnaires of marital conflicts (Kansas, 1985), cognitive flexibility (Dennis and Vanderwaal, 2010), intimacy (Walker and Thomson, 1983) and marital relationship quality (Busby and others, 1995) were used.
The findings showed that training focused on compassion had a significant effect on cognitive flexibility, intimacy and quality of marital relationships in women with marital conflicts (P<0.001).
Training focused on compassion can play an effective role in increasing cognitive flexibility, intimacy and quality of marital relationships in women with marital conflicts.
