Structural Model of Tendency to Substance Abuse in Satellite Personnel of West Iran Oil and Gas Exploitation Company: Assessing the Direct and Indirect Effects of Individual, Occupational and Social Factors

The tendency to Substance abuse is considered one of the most important causes of personal, social and occupational trauma is in health psychology, which is constantly receiving the attention of researchers. The present study was conducted with the aim of providing structural model of tendency to substance abuse with assessing the direct and indirect effects of individual, occupational and social factors in satellite personnel of West Iran Oil And Gas Exploitation Company. The method of the current research was correlation and the statistical population of this research included satellite personnel of the West Country Oil And Gas Exploitation Company. The statistical sample was selected through random stratified sampling of 384 people and completed individual, occupational, social and substance abuse questionnaires.The results showed that personal, occupational and social patterns are directly related to substance abuse. Also, other results of this research showed that social patterns play a mediating role between individual and occupational patterns with a tendency to substance abuse. So, it seems that individual, social and occupational patterns are a set of basic abilities that explain the tendency to abuse drugs in different social environments, including satellite work, with their direct or indirect effects.
