The increasing tendency to use the Internet, especially social networks, has created a favorable environment for the spread of moral crimes in cyberspace. one of the basic duties of the police in society is to prevent this type of crime in society. The purpose of this research is to investigate the role of law enforcement in preventing moral crimes in cyberspace.
The research is applied in terms of purpose and survey in terms of method. The statistical population includes all the executive and staff personnel working in the police command of Urmia city, numbering 750 people. The sample size was selected using Cochran's formula in the number of 254 people by stratified random sampling method. SPSS and Amos software were used for data analysis.
According to the research findings, Among the dimensions of police management, the variable effect of "mobilization of facilities" through the indicators of "community-oriented strategy" with a beta of 0.594 and "coordination strategy" with a beta of 0.556 have had the greatest effect in preventing moral crimes in cyberspace. In general, the effect of dimensions and indicators of police management in "social prevention" has been far more than "status prevention" and "criminal prevention" in reducing moral crimes in cyberspace.
Police prevention of moral crimes in the cyberspace requires an interconnected process of terms and components. Therefore, for the success of the police in preventing these crimes, it is necessary to plan, organize, monitor and control and mobilize facilities through the indicators of community-oriented strategy and coordination strategy, Central information strategy/information aristocracy, intelligence strategy, monitoring of financial interests of illegitimate businesses should be carried out.
