Causes of Alcohol Consumption among Young People in Kerman

Abstract:
Alcoholic beverages are among the most consumed drugs in the world. Today, the consumption of alcoholic beverages and the tendency towards them has become a problem in different societies, especially in Iran and we are witnessing a decrease in the age of consumption among different strata of society, especially teenagers and young people. The present research is to investigate the causes of alcohol consumption among 18-29 year old people in Kerman city. The research method was a survey and a questionnaire. The sample size was determined based on the sampling error at the 95% confidence level with a sampling error of 0/05%. So, 400 people were considered as a sample. The random sampling method was used to select the samples. SPSS software and descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis.The findings showed that the average age of the first consumption of alcoholic beverages was 17 years. The variables of differential connection, dependence, commitment, belief, family control and supervision pattern and easy and cheap access were of a significant relationship with the tendency to consume alcoholic beverages.
