Explaining the causal relationships Emotion Regulation and Parental Stress with Marital Conflicts: the mediating role of Psychological Flexibility during the Coronavirus Epidemic
This study was carried out to the mediator role role of psychological flexibility in the relationship of emotion regulation and parental stress with marital conflicts during the coronavirus epidemic.: The research method was descriptive and correlational. The population was all married women in Tehran in 2020. The sample consisted of 257 who were selected by convenience sampling method. The research instruments consisted of: Marital Conflict Questionnaire (2000), Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (2006), Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II (2011) and Parenting Stress Index - Short Form (1983). The obtained information was analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and Path analysis. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between Parental stress and emotional regulation with marital conflicts during the coronavirus pandemic (P <0.05). Also, the results showed that psychological flexibility in the relationship between parental stress and emotion regulation with marital conflicts during the period of corona virus is mediating (P<0/05). Therefore in order to reduce the marital conflicts, it is suggested that necessary educational programs should be implemented to reduce parental stress.
