Assessing the adherence of young Turkish and Kurdish women in Tabriz and Buchan to national and ethnic identity
The condition for the survival and cultural continuity of societies is the cohesion and integration of people who consider their identity roots to belong to that culture. Identification and alignment with collective identities such as national identity and ethnic identity are important among women who are both half of the population and play an important role in identifying the other half. The general purpose of this study was to determine the degree of adherence of young Turkish and Kurdish women in the cities of Tabriz and Buchan to national and ethnic identity. The research method was correlational survey. The statistical population included the youth of 18 to 30 years old in Tabriz and Buchan and the sample size consisted of 384 and 380 people, respectively. The results of Pearson correlation test showed that the level of adherence to national identity among young Turkish and Kurdish women in Tabriz and Buchan is high and there is no significant difference between them. Adherence to national and ethnic identities among young Turkish and Kurdish women reflects the rich roots of ethnic and national identity in Iranian society.
