comparative study of Trump and Biden's foreign policy towards the Islamic Republic of Iran
The relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States have been tense for more than four decades, and during this period, the United States has used all its effort to confront and threaten Iran; the conflict behavior pattern of the United States, however, has had ups and downs in different periods. Therefore, the main question of the research is: What are the differences and similarities between the foreign policy of Trump and Biden towards the Islamic Republic of Iran? The findings of the research, using the method of document study and analyzing the speeches, writings and declaration positions of both presidents and their entourages in the government and intellectual institutions, show that Iran is a threat and a challenge to the interests of America and the need to limit and control it has been their commonality. There are differences, however, in their confrontational approaches, Trump has followed the maximum pressure approach with the aim of changing the system and Biden has followed a more balanced approach with the aim of changing the behavior of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
