Prediction of juvenile delinquent behaviors based on parents' educational styles mediating spiritual beliefs and self-esteem

The background and purpose of the present study was to predict delinquent behaviors based on parents' educational styles with the mediating role of spiritual beliefs and self-esteem with emphasis on the crime prevention approach in young people. The type of applied research and research method was descriptive and correlational was structural equation. The statistical population of the present study consisted of all adolescents in Tehran in 1400. The final sample size was 224 people. Questionnaires of delinquent behavior, parenting style, religious beliefs and self-esteem were used to collect data. Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient test and path analysis.Findings showed that the authoritarian Peruvian style of child predicts delinquent behavior through self-esteem. Authoritatively perceived Peruvian child style predicts delinquent behavior through self-esteem. Peru's child-perceived style, easily perceived through self-esteem, predicts delinquent behavior. Arbitrarily perceived parenting style has no effect on delinquent behavior due to spiritual beliefs. Authoritatively perceived parenting style has no effect on delinquent behavior due to spiritual beliefs. Perceived parenting style has no effect on delinquent behavior due to spiritual beliefs.Conclusion According to the three variables measured, the police in the field of crime prevention in the future perspective and horizon to have effective cooperation with relevant government institutions.
