The relationship between performance management and employee productivity, challenges and plans for improvement: definitions and case studies

The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between performance management and productivity, infer qualitative relationships between efficient performance management system and productivity, as well as the pathology of performance management in Iranian and foreign organizations. At first, the theory and basic concepts of performance, performance evaluation and productivity are stated, and then with case studies that include more than 15 domestic and foreign organizations, conclusions and discussions are made in this regard. Therefore, the main problems of organizations in performance management are lack of transparency, lack of communication between rewards and performance points, and lack of feedback and proper communication with employees. It is evident that by designing an efficient performance management system, it is possible to move towards the realization of strategic goals, and also efficiency increases by improving the pattern of resource consumption, and on the other hand, due to the recognition of the goal and greater motivation, employees and managers reach the organizational goal or goals faster. As a result, effectiveness will be realized and productivity will be realized, which will be the result of combining efficiency and effectiveness together. Finally, the relationship model of efficient performance management and productivity was extracted from this research and this theoretical model can be a model for the performance and strategy of organizations in the real world.
