The Effect of Emotion-Oriented Couple Therapy on Forgiveness ,Emotional Self-Regulation and Marital Boredom of CouplesSeeking Divorce Referring to Family Social Emergencies
The aim of this study was to compare the effect ofemotion-oriented couple therapy on forgiveness, emotional selfregulation and marital boredom of couples seeking divorcereferring to family social emergencies.
Due to the nature of the subject and theobjectives of the research, this research was conducted in a quasiexperimental manner with a pre-test-post-test design into anexperimental group (emotion-based couple therapy) and a controlgroup. The population of the present study consisted of all couplesreferring to Tehran family social emergencies. The samplingmethod was purposeful and taking into account the inclusioncriteria. Thirty couples were divided into two groups. The firstgroup underwent emotion-based couple therapy and the secondgroup was a witness. The research instruments included theInterpersonal Forgiveness Scale (IFI-25), the Grenfsky et al.Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (2001) and thePineas Marital Boredom Scale (1996).
The results showed that emotion-oriented coupletherapy has a positive effect on marital boredom of couplesseeking divorce referring to family social emergencies.
