Abstract:
The Islamization of the country's universities, the dominance of Islamic values in various dimensions of the university environment, and the cultural and educational influence of teachers and professors have always been emphasized by the leaders of the Islamic Revolution. However, many professors lack sufficient familiarity with the cultural-social duties of professors from the perspective of the leader of Islamic Republic of Iran, and there has been no coherent study in this area. The aim of this study is to determine cultural-social duties duties from the perspective of Ayatollah Khamenei, the leader of Islamic Republic of Iran. For this purpose, his speeches from the commencement of his leadership until the end of 2019 have been analyzed. The primary sources have been “The Light of Knowledge”, “The Shadow of Guardianship” in seven volumes, and website of the Supreme Leader’s Office. To extract the cultural-social duties of professors, 108 relevant speeches were identified and analyzed using the content analysis method. The results revealed that the most important cultural-social duties of professors include "identity formation and motivation"; "presence in the field of action"; "demanding and questioning"; "management of cultural issues"; "achieving solutions to problems"; and "having hope".
