The Effectiveness of an Intervention based on Zurvan Theory on the Quality of Life and Hope among Women Living in Isfahan City in 2023
Psychological interventions can improve quality of life and increase hope for life. The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of an intervention based on Zarvan's theory on quality of life and hope in women living in Isfahan.
This quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design with a control group was conducted with the participation of 60 women living in Isfahan in 2023. Participants were selected by convenience sampling method and randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups (30 people in each group). Snyder's life hope (1991) and 36-Item Short Form Survey (SF-36) questionnaires were used to collect data. The experimental group received the intervention based on Zurvan's theory in six sixty-minute sessions. Data were analyzed using covariance analysis test and SPSS Statistics for Windows, version 22.0 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, Ill., USA).
The mean (SD) age of the participants in the experimental group was 32.7(4.8) and in the control group was 33.1 (4.9) years. In the experimental group, the mean (SD) of the quality of life score increased from 99.0 (9.8) before the intervention to 105.6 (10.7) after the intervention (P=0.001). In the experimental group, the mean (SD) of the hope to life score increased from 27.3 (1.8) to 31.3 (4.1) (P=0.001). The changes in the control group were not significant.
The study showed that the intervention based on Zarvan's theory improved the level of quality of life and hope to life in women.
