Presenting a model to decrease degree orientation in the country's higher education system: the necessity of skills training
The present study was conducted in order to provide a model to decreasing degree orientation in the country's higher education system by developing skills training. A grounded theory qualitative method was used to conduct this research. The statistical population of this research was experts in the field of higher education in Iran. Twenty people were selected using the purposeful sampling method, snowball technique and theoretical saturation criterion through semi-structured interviews. Data analysis was done with coding methods, so that during the coding process, categories including: central categories, causal conditions, intervening conditions, contextual conditions, strategies and implementation mechanisms, and the consequences of reducing document orientation were extracted.In order to increase the credibility of the study findings, a combination of information gathering methods, such as document review, interview and questionnaire, was used. Based on the results and findings of the research, two themes of certificationism were identified as the main dimensions of the concept of certificationism in the country (systemic and structural certificationism, cultural and social certificationism).based on the obtained results, factors such as; Individual, social and cultural conditions; the economic, political and administrative environment of the country; and the scientific and educational environment of the country is one of the main causes of the formation of degree orientation in the higher education system, which by creating a society and reforming the existing trends, as well as reforming the teaching and research matters in the country, will reduce the phenomenon of degree orientation and the growth of skills trainings in the country.
