Biography of Ayatollah Mirza Mohammad-Ali Shahabadi (1292– 1369 AH)
Ayatollah Mirza Mohammad-Ali Shahabadi was a contemporary sage and mystic who played a significant role in the development of Islamic knowledge during the first Pahlavi era. His social mysticism contributed to the upbringing of disciples such as Imam Khomeini, who sought to reform the cultural, political, and economic structures of Iranian society. This article, utilizing library studies and applying an analytical-descriptive method, seeks to answer the question, “What contributions and activities did Ayatollah Shahabadi have in scientific, political, and economic arenas?” The article hypothesizes that Ayatollah Shahabadi’s intellectual positions and social actions led to the growth of religious thought during the Pahlavi era, and his financial, economic, and cultural institution-building efforts resulted in the formation of Islamic organizations to combat corruption in Iranian society.
