Effects of planting date, nitrogen splitting and rhizobium bacteria on yield and yield components of soybean (Glycin max L.) in Neka

Abstract:
In oder to study the effects of planting date, nitrogen splitting and rhizobium bacteria on cropping characters of soybean line 033, an experiment was conducted as split split plot based on randomized complete block design with three replication. This experiment was arranged in a way that main factors included three levels of different planting dates (May 10, June 5 and June 31) and sub factors included two levels of different planting date with and without rizobium inoculation and five levels of N (T1=consumption of the whole Nitrogen in base stage, T2= Consumption of 50% Nin base + 50% Nin R2 stage, T3= consumption of 30% Nin base + 50% Nin R2 stage, T3= consumption of 30% Nit base + 70% in R2 stage, T4 = consumption of 50% Nit base + 50% in R5 stage and T5 = consumption of 30% Nit base +70% in R5 stage). Results showed a decrease number in pod per main stem and sub branch and 100 seed weight in main stem total grain yield with delaying planting date but reduction number of empty pod in sub branch. The rhizobium caused an increase in number of pod, seed per pod, 100 grain weight and total grain yield. Consumption of nitrogen fertilizer in proportion 50 to 70% in R5 stage caused an increase in number of pod, mean number of seed per pod and 100 seed weight in main stem also an increase number of seed per pod in sub branch and decreased in the number of empty pod in main stem and sub branch. T1 (consumption of the whole Nitrogen in base stage) and T5 (consumption of 30% N in base + 70% in R5 stage) had the minimum and maximum grain yield at the rate of 3919.9 kg hac-1 and 4396.9 kg hac-1 respectively. Interaction planting date with nitrogen splitting was affection significantly on number of pod per sub branch, number of empty pod per main stem and 100 grain weight. number of pod per main stem, number of seed per pod in main stem and sub branch, number of empty pod and 100 grain weight in main stem and total grain yield were affected significantly by interaction date planting and rhizobium.
