Study of Epidemiological Factors on Workplace Accidents in Islamic Revolutionary Guard Grops in Tehran in 2005

Introduction. In the past, the work had been accompanied with accident, however in developed countries the accidents were declined by using essential planning, preparing correct educational program and protection equipments to staffs and workers. The aim of this study was to determine, the epidemiological factors effects on accidents which were happened in workplace of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Crops (IRGC) in Tehran capital city in 2005, based on their accident reported to inspection duty of IRGC. Material and Methods. This study was designed as cross-sectional survey in 2005 based on accidents reported among Islamic Revolutionary Guard Crops staffs that their document was refereed to inspection duty of IRGC. The data was transferred in special standardized questioner, then it was analyzed by SPSS. Results. In total, 71 complete questioners with data were inserted in this study. The results showed that the most frequency of accident prevalent as the follows age (%47) in 18-20 years old, the time of accident (%25) at 6-10 a.m., the April-May with (%21) has the highest rate of accident in compare with other months in the year. In addition, the injury (%23) and Lot of part of body (%23) had the highest rate of part of body which was injured according to this finding. The main reason of accidents was engagement with the machine followed to falling with (%29). Nevertheless %51 of all accidents were occurred during Workplace process. The soldiers had %75 of all accident too. It should be added the staff with low graduation (under diploma in high school) had the highest (%68) rate of all accident. The married staff had the highest rate (%71) has a main role in this accident based on this finding. Conclusion. This study showed that, the accidents are occurring among IRGC occasionally. The main Firstly the all accidents were not registered at all secondly there is no registration network for accident too. Therefore, it could be suggested that the accident must be registered based on scientific method which is suggested by researcher in this survey. Accident in solders is more than staff and also the result shows graduated personnel and married personnel caused a lot of accident in workplaces. Finally the accidents could be reduced completely by using interventional methods.
