The Appearance of Prophets In The Poetry of Saeb Tabrizi

Quranic tales, specifically The tales of the prophets have appealed to many Persian poets. Stories from the life of Adam and Eve to that of the prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h) have been introduced into Persian poetry. Based on such stories and allusions, poets have composed elegant and novel verses. A great part of Saeb's poetry deals with allusions to the lives of the prophets. This study deals with the place and appearance of the prophets in Saeb's poetry. Fifteen prophets to whom Saeb has alluded are introduced first; Quronic verses. Mystical allusions, moral concepts and literary fineness are studied subsequently.
