The Geopolitical Codes of Azerbaijan and their Impacts on the Security of Iran

Since the reannouncement of independence of Azerbaijan in 1991 this newly- established state- among Fourteen states separated from the USSR- has tolerated numerous political and security tensions in its internal and external sphere by now. Due to its situation as a link between Europe, Asia and the Middle East, the Caucasus has enjoyed increasing significance as a result of disintegration of the USSR and power vacuum in this geopolitically sensitive region.Since Azerbaijan is the largest state in southern Caucasus and plays a key role in the political equations of this region, the geopolitical codes of this state especially those influencing Iran, will be surveyed.
