Evaluation and Comparison between Different Enhanced Oil Recovery Methods in an Iranian Fractured Reservoir

Message:
Abstract:
Miscible flooding in fractured oil reservoirs present a special oil production problem, oil is eagerly produced from fracture network and the oil located in the matrix blocks is not easily displaced. Because of technological complexity and financial requirements to initiate a gas flooding project, a thorough evaluation is necessary before it is performed. The oil field under study is a carbonated and fractured reservoir which is located in West of Iran. In this study, the reservoir fluid model of ten components was created to simulate fluid behavior of the reservoir. Minimum miscibility pressure (MMP) of N2, CO2 and Methane injection was determined using slim tube through compositional simulator. The optimum production and injection rate were obtained for each scenario. In the last part of study different scenarios were compared with each other at their optimum rate. Finally, well completion pattern was found to be as one of the important parameters which affect the ultimate recovery.
