Introducing a Model for e-Readiness Assessment of Small and Medium Enterprises in Defense Industry of Iran

Abstract:
The separation between poor and rich, developing and developed countries has been increased in the current century. In this information century, the communities and organizations pursue to develop extensively the use of knowledge within the context of information and communication technology. In this regard, the businesses are planning to enter various digital fields and assess their e-Readiness considered as a measure of business development and success. In recent years, a number of electronic assessment tools have been developed. These tools confirm that how the study of an organization from information technology point of view can be beneficial. This objective of the paper is to model the components of acceptance capability, the use and incorporation of information and communication technology and related applications in defense industry of Iran. The model comprises the access, classification and evaluation indicators of e-Readiness. Although the above model is designed to assess e-Readiness of small and medium enterprises in defense industry, it can be used to assess other industries by modifying its components.
