Family Functioning Based on Couple's Personality Traits

The main purpose of conducting the present research was to predict the family functioning based on couple's personality traits. The sample was drawn from the teachers, staffs and their spouses employed in GM and private secondary and high schools of Tehran in the school year ran from 1387 to 1388. The sample comprised 382 individuals who were sampled by multi-stage random sampling and underwent the "FAD and NEO-FFI Tests". Results which were statically confirmed by linear regression analysis and path analysis indicated that extroversive characteristics and couple's conciliation were positively, significantly correlated with the level of family functioning and negatively, significantly correlated with neuroticism, moreover, the results obtained from path analysis support the predictive power of conciliation, neuroticism and extroversion in predicting the family functioning level.
