Studying the Relation between the Doctrine of Mahdism and the Islamic Education

The following article seeks to investigate how much and how far the doctrine of Mahdism can influence the education of the people in general. In this regard, we have tried to deliberate, after an introduction, over the concept of teaching and its relation to learning or being trained, and then to explain the position of education in Islam among the Mahdistic instructions, which are really part of Islamic teachings. We have, in this way, proceeded to two essential subjects: knowing the Imam of Time (PBuH) and awaiting his advent and then indicating their effects on “educaton”.The knowledge about the Imam of Time will lead us to know God better and help us to keep our religious belief more and accept the divine representations in a simpler way through such instructions that play a great role in the training of men. The doctrine of awaiting (waiting for the appearance of Imam Mahdi) also causes people to improve themselves and other onse and then create hope in everyone. All these educational methods such as forming models, practical examples, giving advice, etc. which are the styles of those instructions will produce human perfection, secure all men’s happiness and lead them to the highest status of God’s worship, which is the real goal of creation.Correct education through Islamic teachings has a relation to the doctrine of Mahdism, which can satisfy the natural and real requirements of the people. No doubt, being aware and informed of Mahdistic instructions and then applying them in practice will certainly lead man to his destination; but proceeding along ways other than them will result in man’s aberration and decline.
