Relationship between Perfectionism Dimensions and Creativity among High School Talented Students

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between perfectionismdimensions with creativity among high school talented students in Shiraz, Iran. Thesample of the study included 203 high school students (103 males and 100 females).Two questionnaires were administered: Terry-Short et al. (1995), PerfectionismScale and Abedi (2002) Creativity Questionnaire. Then data were analyzed throughmultiple regression, two-way ANOVA and multivariate analysis of variance(MANOVA) methods. The results revealed that: 1. There is a significant relationshipbetween perfectionism and creativity among high school talented students, whereasperfectionism dimensions were predicted 20 percentages of variance of creativity.According to the results, creativity was positively predicted by positiveperfectionism and it was negatively predicted by negative perfectionism. 2. Girlsacquired high scores on variables of creativity and negative perfectionism, but boysacquired high scores on positive perfectionism.
