A Study of the Relationship between Marital Satisfaction and Parenting Styles with Behavioral Problems of Children in Primary Schools of Arsanjan City

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between marital satisfactionas well as parenting styles with behavioral problems of children in primary schoolsof Arsanjan city. The statistical population included 930 students from 12 primaryschools in the 2005-2006 academic year. The sample of the research was about 250subjects according to Morgan table consisting 150 girls and 100 boys that all ofthem were selected randomly. Furthermore, 250 mothers and also 250 teachers haveparticipated in this study. The mothers were competel satis from marital satisfactionof Enrich and the parenting styles of Drowse and Tehan and were tested forbehavioral problems of Ratter. 5 hypotheses were considered in this study. Theresults of the analysis indicated significant and inverted relationship between maritalsatisfaction and responsible parenting styles children's behavioral problems. Andalso there was a meaningful relationship between irresponsible parenting styles withchildren's behavioral problems. By the difference between these styles, a meaningfuldifference was confirmed in 0.02 level. But in severe parenting style the results wasreversed and the hypothesis was not confirmed. As a result, we can say that marriageand family conflicts and the use of easy parenting methods are the cause of childsbehavioral problems. And the responsible parenting styles is the best educationalmethod that decrease the child's behavioral problems.
