Efficacy of Cognitive Behavioral Intervention Focused on the Fear of Death inthe Reduction of the Symptoms of Hypochondriasis

The research purpose is to assess the efficacy of cognitive behavioral intervention focused on the fear of death in the reduction of the symptoms of hypochondriasis; therefore, 18 individuals diagnosed with hypochondriasis were selected through the accessibility mode and assigned to the experimental and control groups. The experimental group underwent ten sessions of cognitive behavioral intervention focused on the fear of death. Results showed that symptoms of hypochondriasis is in experimental group was significantly lower than the control group in posttest and follow up (p<0/001).
