Relationship between Happiness and Personality characteristics in University Students

The research purpose is to investigate the relationship between happiness and personality characteristics among university students therefore,700 students were selected using multi-stage cluster sampling. The tools employed were “The Sixty-Item (NEOPI-R) Questionnaire and Oxford Happiness Inventory”. The data analyzed by multi-variable regression analysis showed that among from the five personality factors, happiness is positively, significantly correlated to extraversion and agreeableness and negatively, significantly correlated to neuroticism, accounting for 42 percent of the variance.
