Study of the degree of efficiency of academic staff of Islamic Azad University in Classroom Management

Abstract:
This survey investigated the degree of efficiency of faculty members of Azad Islamic university in classroom management. Four areas studied for this purpose were as following: effective communication with learners, increasing teaching ability, teaching desire, and involving learners in learning process. Statistical population for the research included all 4392 students in four major academic disciplines namely as engineering, humanities, basic sciences and medical sciences in Islamic Azad University of Sari. The classified random sampling was used to select the 556 sample population by referring to Krejcie and Morgan table. A 47-item questionnaire, based on Likert scale, was used as an instrument to measure academic staff efficiency in classroom management. Formal reliability of the questionnaire was calculated 0/97 with utilization of Kronbach's alpha. The data collected was analyzed by use of SPSS. Descriptive methods and dependent T test, independent T test and analysis of variance were then utilized. Findings demonstrated that students of Islamic Azad University evaluated their professors to be efficient in communication with learners, increasing teaching ability, teaching desire, and involving learners in learning process. In the field of engineering male professors are more efficient than females. While in the field of human sciences, female professors are more efficient than males. In basic sciences, however, male professors have been evaluated to be more efficient than females. And in medical sciences female professors are more efficient than males.
