The Philosophy of History and Doctrine of Mahdism from the Viewpoint of Martyr Sadr

There are three theories given about the Advent of Mahdi:1-unexpectedness of the Advent,2-gradual evolution and natural advancement of the Advent,3-optionality of the Imam’s Advent.The third theory is the one Shahid Sadr has propounded and dealt with.The philosophy of history of Sadr deals with the history to be rule-governed. It discovers the laws governing history. He believes that the laws are conditioned with the volition and the will-power of man. It is the man who drives the train of history. Since the Advent is a historical phenomenon, it must be conditioned by the power, volition and the choice of man.Therefore, we have to use applicable, practical plans with the help of historical laws or rules to hasten and accelerate the Advent and Arrival of Imam Mahdi (PBuH).
