Factors Affecting Morale of US Army

Morale is one of the fundamental and unique factors affecting combatant's function and efficiency during the war and peace. For this reason, to defeat an enemy overwhelmingly, its morale should be examined carefully and methodically. Therefore, through meta-analysis method, the morale of US army has been studied in this research. The findings of the research made it clear that fives types of factors affect the morale of the army. These factors are: factors related to the public opinion and the amount of the society status for the armed forces; army's internal factors and the amount of support that it does for its forces; factors related to the army personnel specially, spiritual intelligence, mental-physical health and different skills. Factors related to the battle specially, the intensity, duration and type of the battle; and finally, psychological operation factor which is conducted by US enemies against its troops. It is obvious that every one of these factors express a specific part of that country's military morale.
