Effect of different levels of raw and treated rice bran on the performance of broiler chickens

Message:
Abstract:
This experiment was conducted in order to study the effect of different levels of raw and treated rice bran on the performance of broiler chickens. 784، 1-d-old Ross 308 broiler chicks were reared on the floor pens until 42 d of age. A common corn-soy diet and diets containing 7، 14 and 21 percent of rice bran with and withought acetic acid was formulated based on NRC، 1994 recommendations for starter (1-21d) and finisher (22-42d) periods. Each of 7 dietary treatments was fed to 4 replicate groups of 28 mixed sex chicks. Result indicated that diets containing 21 percent of raw and treated rice bran had significantly lower body weight gain and higher feed conversion ratio than other treatments (P<0. 05). Increasing of rice bran level to broiler diets resulted to significant increase of feed intake. No significant difference was observed in carcass composition of broiler chicks fed dietary treatments. Treated rice bran with acetic acid had no effective effect on performance of broiler chickens.
