Comparison between forage yield and protein amount of 5 sudan grass varieties in Southern Khorasan province

Message:
Abstract:
Forage yield and protein amount of 5 Sudan grass varieties was investigated in Ghaien، Birjand، and Nehbandan. Completely Randomized Blocks design including 3 replications with 5 Sudan grass varieties namely KFS1، KFS2، KFS3، KFS4 and Speed feed was used. Number of nodes and tiller، basal diameter، height and wet and dry yield were measured in each of regions in 2 mows. To examine effects of regions، varieties، mows and their interactions multivariate analysis was applied. To group the means، Duncan test was made. The results showed that understudy properties are significantly different in regions، varieties and mows. Protein content of Ghaien، Nehbandan، and Birjand were 11. 17%، 11. 12% and 9. 8%، respectively. It seems that climatic changes of 3 regions resulted mentioned differences of protein contents. KFS2، KFS3 and KFS4 contained the highest protein contents while KFS2 and KFS3 had the lowest yield. KFS4 showed mid yield. Totally، according to protein amount and yield of KFS4، this variety could be considered as the most suitable one among 5 varieties.
