[[Influence of residential environments on mental health, happiness and personal well-being of young girls

Abstract:
Introduction
The aim of this study was to illustrate various residential environments effectson young girls’ mental health, happiness and well-being.
Method
200 young girls participated to this study by answering mental health, well-being, and happiness questionnaires. 75 of them living in villa residents, 74 living in apartments with internal natural design and 51 living in apartments without internal natural design. They were aged 13 to 18 years old.
Results
Results of ANOVA showed the average scores of girls who were living in apartments without natural design were significantly lower than the average score of the girls living in houses or apartments with natural design in all questionnaires except on the social functions sub-scale. Results also indicated that girls living in apartments with no natural design have more anxiety and depression than other groups (p < 0.05).
Conclusion
Also results show more mental health and happiness among girls living in villas and apartments with natural design than girls living without natural design on their home. Results suggest the efficacy of internal natural home design on adolescent's mental state.
