Overview of a Global Experience in Higher Education Assessment

Higher education has been considered as one of the main driving forces in shaping the future of science and technology among the future studies and Science and Technology policy researchers. This importance is because of the role of higher education in creating، teaching، developing and fostering public understanding of science. Furthermore the globalization of higher education، mobility of students and researchers to capture research and educational skills in frontier countries، quality of well-known education and research center، outputs and other features make the competitiveness of higher education as important as ever. Policy researchers of science and technology contemplate the evaluation and quality assurance of higher education institutes to achieve competitiveness. Monitoring global trends and events in the evaluation of higher education is valuable for the evaluation of Iran''s higher education. In this paper experiences from US، Japan، Denmark and Pakistan in evaluation of higher education has been studied. At the end and based on the common features of the aforementioned countries، evaluation models، a model has been proposed. This model can be applied for the evaluation of Iran''s higher education.
