The comparison of happiness among the Elderly Residing at Home and at Old People's Homes

The aim of this study to happiness among the Elderly Residing at Home and at Old People's Homes. The subjects were 100 old people from Tabriz city 50 residing at home and 50 at old people's homes). The subjects Elderly Residing at Home and at Old People's Homes were selected through availability non-random method. In order to collect data, Oxford happiness questionair was used. Independent test were applied to analyze data. The results showed that the happiness of the elderly living at home significantly more than the elderly living in the house is elderly. Among the components of happiness, level of life satisfaction, mental health, positive mood and elderly residents in the incomes of the elderly living at home significantly higher in the older house. However, both groups showed no significant difference in levels of self-esteem. Findings suggest that the happiness of the elderly living at home because they enjoy the respect and affection of family and social support significantly more elderly people living in the house is elderly. And vice versa Live in house for elderly people who could take over the family, but due to economic conditions and family to house the elderly have been deposited Reduce the lack of life satisfaction and happiness is not in the end.
