Investigating the Role of Public Participations in Prevention of Burglary of the Homes

In the most of countries, one of the problems of police is involving with deviations and crimes especially burglary of the homes. The root of this problem is in economic problems and if society members be indifferent to this problem it will increase more. Semnan city is one of the cities that has high rate of burglary so to this reason the present paper has been focused on the role of public participation in prevention of burglary of the homes, from point of view of the managers and high officers of police in this city. We used documentary and survey methods and our data gathering technic was a questionnaire. The questions were closed and open. We examined 100 people sample that was included: chief of police, managers and high officers of police in police stations of Semnan city. Results showed: there is a significant relationship between citizens teaching about prevention of burglary of the homes, citizens’ awareness of impacts of participation in promotion of social security, citizens feeling about authority of police, behavior of police to citizens, citizens‘using of new security technologies in their homes, police action about prevention of burglary of the homes and public participation to police in prevention of burglary.
