An Appraisal of the Changes in Religious Media and Their Effects on Religious Beliefs of the Iranians

As the effectiveness of religious training in Islam mainly takes place because of the consistency between the educational material and Devine nature of man, consideration of these changes along with the effects they impose on the teaching methodology are essentially important in the assessment of the media. Religious media in Iran mainly originates from pulpits (manaber). Pulpits have been the strongest Islamic media tribunes in the history of Islam and Shia'. This media form has been changed greatly by the modern communication technology and presentation of internet after the 1980s in Iran. This change has affected the addressees of the Islamic messages, especially the youth. Changes in the social structure toward modernism have enhanced the religious media greatly. On the other hand, development in the process of addressee's information and knowledge, has brought about modern changes in communication and intelligence instruments. These changes along with content improvement have resulted in new ways of communicating with the addressees (the believers). They started to separate perception from their own feelings. The effects of these changes can be now observed in the beliefs and behavior of the youth. This research is intended to deal with the pathology of this change.
