Pages 1-30Judaism and Islam are two great religions believe in monotheism and place it in the centre of their sacred world. This attitude is regarded in their mystical inclinations too, so that Zohar as the most important writing in Qabbalah and Fusūs as the most influential text in Tasawwuf, are composed on the centrality of unity of God. In both texts, God is both transcendent and immanent; and process of creation, which has been originated from Gods tendency to manifestation, is based on presentation and appearance of Gods attributes. These attributes form the first level of Gods determination and in spite of their illusory plurality, they contain a unique essence which shapes an anthropological form named Adam Elyon and Perfect Man. He is a comprehensive manifestation of divine attributes and has superiority over other creatures. According to significant role of unity of being doctrine in Zohar and Fusūs, Adam Elyon or Perfect Man has unity with the entire universe and is regarded as the origination of all other creatures. He is inrelation to God as his manifestation; so knowing him is as the same as knowing God. The authors of these two books attempt to provide a way for acquiring this knowledge by interpretation of verses of sacred books. So, it is possible we claim that Adam Elyon and Perfect Man are in the center of mystical thought of Zohar and Fusūs.Keywords: Adam Elyon, Sefirot, Qabbalah, Haqiqat, e Mohammadiah, Feiz, e Aqdas, Feiz, e Moqaddas

Pages 31-59Mahatma Gandhi, the charismatic leader of Indias independence movement, who played a great role in religious, moral, social and political awakening of Indians in the early twentieth century, was extremely impressed by religious, moral and mystical motivations. Therefore, he was entitled Mahatma (The Great Soul) by Indian society, which is considered a mystical and religious award. In his point of view, religion had a fundamental status. Consequently, the critical viewpoints against religion in the modern world greatly concerned him and later on, brought about his religious and social reformative thoughts. In his opinion, religion was more comprehensible in practice and experience; hence, he thought that man must pass through superficial aspects of religion by practicing all religious and moral instructions, then penetrates into its depths, so that he would experience the Truth face to face. In this article, we have tried to clarify the religious dimensions of his personality, and also scrutinize simultaneously his most significant ideas and reflections on religious realm, specially on Hinduism and some subjects such as God, faith, Brahmacharya, Ahimsā, satyāgraha, unity of religions and religious reformations. Keywords: Gandhi, Hinduism, Religion, ahimsā reformations

Pages 61-100Philosophical inclinations of Vedic hymns are considered in Upanišads in detailed. Instead of Vedic commendatory hymns addressing Gods and Goddesses, searching the hidden Truth and finding a fixed and unchangeable principle within transitory and unstable phenomena is viewable in Upanišads. While Vedic hymns speak of various and scattered divisions of the supreme being, Upanišads suppose one concealed Reality more transcendent than all the transitions and changes of the mundane world. The Vedic Gods are messengers of the one light which is appeared as the universal creation. By referring to Upanišads, we encounter with an interesting transformation: transition from objective to subjective, from anxious wandering of the external world to a quiet meditation in depth and meaning of the essence and self. The Upanišads notice to the rout of the esoteric ascension extensively, an interior travel by that, the individual selves would be able to acquire the Ultimate Reality, the same reality which is within us. It is a supreme and Absolute Truth which is completely different and far from the phenomenal world and the whole cosmos; and on the other hand, is indeed identical with all the phenomena and universe. Keywords: Upanisads, Niriguna Brahman, Para Brahman, Saguna Brahman, Apara Brahman, absolute reality, unity of being

Pages 101-137In Šankaras opinion, Brahman possesses two significantly different aspects: sagūna and nīrigūna. Nīrigūna is the indeterminate and beyond qualities aspect of Brahman, while sagūna (Īšvara) includes Brahmans determination and specification which is manifested in this world by illusion or māyā. According to Šankara, reality of the world is merely illusory (vivarta) and it doesnt contain any reality other than Brahman. In contrast, Rāmānuja, in spite of the fact that he believes in the unique essence of Brahman and views the phenomenal world and selves related to him as the body is to the soul or as a part of Brahman, but he maintains they themselves have a reality essentially distinctable from Brahman. According to him, appearing of the world from māyā, which is the creative force of Brahman and his Šakti, has reality (Parināma) per se.Keywords: Brahman, Cosmos, Maya, Vivarta, Parinama

Pages 139-167God is the central theme in mysticism. Therefore, all the mysticsendeavors are in direct of establishing a relation with Him. During the history of different mystical traditions, various paths are recommended for such communication. In both Islamic and Christian mystical traditions, mystics have both theorized and practiced in various kinds. Although these two traditions, have some similarities for a comparative study, but their different attitudes toward God and man has caused some divergences too. In Christianity, God enters into the course of the history within the Christs body and causes a totally different relation by His incarnation. It is obvious that such a God is not comparable with Islamic concept of the unconditioned God. Instead of all these facts, in both traditions God has personification and this is their most significant similarity that facilitates a comparison. Tresa of Avila and Jalāl al-Dīn Mohammad Mawlawī, are among the most significant mystics of these two traditions. Both Tresa and Mawlānā, have considered a personal relation with God as the basis of their journey towards Him, and their works testify to this fact. This survey may be significant in opening a new view to comparative studies of mysticism. The Authors method is phenomenological and comparative. At first, a concise biography of Tresa is reported, but for Mawlānās reputation among the readers, the author has withheld from referring to his biography. Keywords: Divine Love, prayer, interior castle

In Hinduism, According to doctrine of rebirth and karma, this goal is identical with mokša or liberation from cycle of samsāra and karma; by which spirit can reach ultimate unity with Brahman and experience the eternal life and deliverance. Bhakti thinkers have expressed different interpretations of acquiring mokśa and quality of this station by relying on teachings of the Bhagavadgitā- one of the sacred Hindu books. We intend to introduce mokśa, its various kinds, and opinions of some dominant thinkers of Bhaktī School such as Rāmānuja, Nimbārka, Madhva, Vallabha, Kabīr and Nānak. Keywords: samsara, karma, moksa, bhakti, jivanmukti, Ramanuja, Nanak
