This study was carried out to investigate the effect of pistachio green hull extract (PGHE) on growth¡ survival and body composition of rainbow trout. The experiment was performed in a completely randomized design with five treatments and three replications (14 fish in each replicates). Fish with 18.06±0.93 g initial weight¡ were fed with the diets (3% of biomass per day) for 8 weeks. The diets contained 0¡ 0.5¡ 1.5¡ 4.5 and 9 g PGHE/Kg were made. The total phenolic content of PGHE were 21.52 mg gallic acid/ gr dry matter. Results did not show any significant differences (P>0.05) in SGR (Specific Growth Rate)¡ FCR (Feed Conversion Ratio)¡ survival¡ hepatosomatic index and body composition (moisture¡ protein¡ lipid¡ ash) among the different treatments. The maximum condition factor (1.24±0.02) was observed in fish treated with 1.5 g PGHE/Kg in the diet¡ being significantly different from control group (p

This research was conducted to study the ontogeny of visual structure and retina of Sterlet (Acipenser ruthenus) during early development from hatching up to 50 DPH (day post hatching). For this purpose histological sections of eye during this period were prepared using paraffin method and stained by hematoxilin-eosin. At hatching time¡ the retina was not differentiated and differentiation of eye layers were starts from 2 DPH. Main developmental changes in Sterlet eye were occurred at 3 DPH. At this time¡ eye wall¡ lens¡ iris¡ choroid layer¡ scleral layer¡ cornea and vitreous humour were observable. In addition¡ differentiation of the retina with a high intensity of cone visual cells was observed at 3 DPH. The retina was developed as several layers with increasing intensity of rod visual cells at 9 DPH. Upon 25 DPH¡ most of visual structures and retina were fully developed and eye structure was similar to those of adult fish. The results revealed that ontogeny of visual structures and cells is occurred in accordance with changes in biological demands and habitat changes i.e. beginning of exogenous feeding and benthic life style of Sterlet.

European catfish Silurus glanis L.¡ 1758¡ belonging to family Siluridae and order Siluriformes¡ which are found in water bodies of north of Iran and one of their distribution points is Anzali lagoon. Totally 154 specimens from Oct.2005 to Sep.2006 were study for age¡ body size¡ gonad weight¡ liver weight in Anzali lagoon. In this study reproduction cycle¡ type¡ season and optimum temperature of spawning period was studied by Gonado-Somatic Index (GSI)¡ Hepato-Somatic Index (HSI) and Condition Factor (CF) in 2006 year. The maximum mean of Gonado-Somatic Index (GSI) reach to 7.82  3.04 (%) in May and June¡ then GSI value started to decrease from July to September in the end of spawning period. From second stages of maturation GSI Value significantly increased and showed maximum amount in the 5th stages of maturity¡ then decreased in the 6th stages. Result of this study shows that development of sexual maturity of gonad reached maximum values in April and May and in this period water temperature was 19.33 - 22.73 ºС. Variations in GSI values show that reproduction has annual cycle which begins in September and ends in June of next year. The rate of HSI had fluctuation¡ during the study period .The maximum value (1.950.22%) of it’s was in November and the minimum HSI (0.79  0.12%) in July. The Condition Factor also changed during reproduction cycle and it was maximum in September (0.70.18%) and minimum in June. Concerning these investigation Silurus glanis is has a Prolonged Spawning period extending from the April to half of June.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of probiotic Bacilli on some growth parameters and their stress resistance of common carp. This experiment was conducted in two treatments¡ each with three replicates. The bioaugmentor bacterial strain Bacillus licheniformisi¡ B. subtilis¡ B. polymyxa¡ B. laterosporus and B. circulans (Protexin Aquatech¡ UK) were used in this study. The effluent or waste water of common carp cultivation system was used in this experiment. In trial of probiotic (T1)¡ the blend of bacillus were added to the waste water in bacterial treatment tanks at a concentration of 1×108 CFU/ liter. In treatment of T2 tap water were used. At the end of experiment (45 days)¡ the mean weight¡ FCR¡ SGR(%)¡ RGR(%)¡ FCE(%)¡ RFI(%)¡ ADG(%)¡ PER and LER (P

In this study the effect of blend of Bacillus circulans¡ Bacillus licheniformis and baker´s yeast¡ Saccharomyces cerevisiae with concentrations of 1×105¡ 2×105 and 3×105 CFU/ml in suspension of bioencapsulation of Artemia urmiana nauplii were studied on performance of growth parameters in Sazan (Cyprinus carpio carpio L.) larvae. This experiment was conducted in a completely random design in three experimental treatments and control with three replicates for each treatment. The Sazan (Cyprinus carpio carpio) larvae were cultured for 80 days in two experiment stages. In the first stage of experiment the fish larvae were fed A. urmiana nauplii bioencapsulated with blend of probiotic bacilli and yeast¡ for 35 days. The fish larvae in control were fed unenriched A. urmiana naplii. In the second stage of experiment¡ fish larvae were fed experimental diet supplemented with blend of yeast and probiotic bacilli for a period of 45 days. The results in the first stage of experiment indicated that blend of the probiotics had significant effects on growth and feeding parameters compare control (p0.05). In experimental treatments the final body weight¡ total length¡ specific growth rate¡ food conversion efficiency¡ growth conversion efficiency had significantly increased in comparison to control. The results of the second stage of experiment showed that the growth and feeding parameters were significantly increased compare to control (P

This study was conducted to survey the M.Sc. students’ motivation for choosing the aquaculture as field of study in scope of personal and career in Islamic Azad universities of Tehran during 2012–2013. The data collection tool was a two-part questionnaire includes personal information and options related to motivational factors to choose the mentioned field. To determine the validation of questionnaire and its stability¡ were used content validity and Test–Retest methods¡ respectively (r=0/9). Research community was included of 56 M.Sc. students of aquaculture major in Islamic Azad University of two different branches¡ science and research and North¡ in Tehran. The data was analyzed using SPSS (version 20). Results showed that the most effective factors to create motivation to choose aquaculture major included: being interested in work with aquatic animals in scope of personal fields and hope to work independently¡ exiting experiences and earn high income in scope of career. In addition¡ cope with unemployment and just being accepted in university were the least important factors for choosing aquaculture field.
