The division of tawhid (meaning oneness of Allah) is one of the issues discussed in connection with monotheism and polytheism. Most Salafis have divided monotheism into three types:monotheism in lordship, monotheism in divinity and monotheism in the attributes. This division is considered as a criterion through which people are judged and categorized as being either monotheists or polytheists. The truth is that this division suffers from many setbacks and problems six of which are enumerated as under:First: The aforementioned division is against Salafist principles. Second: The divisions offered by Salafists are overlapping one another. Third: The said division is not exclusive. Fourth: The division is not inclusive. Fifth: To use the term "Rabb" and mean "creation" is not correct. Sixth: To use the term "Ilah" and mean "the worshipped" is disputable.

Ziyārah or Ziyarat is an Arabic term which literally means "visit", and is used to refer to a form of pilgrimage to sites associated with the Prophet of Islam (s) his family members and descendants including the Shi'i Imams and other venerated figures in Islam. Wahhabis in principle accept visitation of graves considering it as a Sunnah of the Prophet (S) but they believe that embarking on a journey to visit the graves is an innovation. Their main reference is the shadd al-rihal tradition which means undertaking a pilgrimage. According to the tradition, setting out on a journey is allowed only to the three mosques. Wahhabis are of the view that the word "place" is included in the exception even though it is not mentioned explicitly. Hence, visitation of all journeys is forbidden, whereas, in fact, masjid (mosque) is the mustasna minhu (antecedent in exceptive sentences) in this tradition and it has nothing to do with other journeys. The traditions narrated through Sunni reports make mention of this mustasna minhu and Sunni scholars have alluded to the permissibility of setting out on a journey to visit graves.

The phenomenon of takfir (excommunication) began right in the early decades after the advent of Islam. The Kharijites were the first organized movement that excommunicated their opponents. Despite this phenomenon's long life in the history, the Shia religion has, on rare occasions, been portrayed as a takfiri religion i.e. a religion that excommunicates others. However, in the recent century, many have tried to depict Shia as a takfiri sect one of which is Abdul Maleki al-Shafi'ei who in his Al-Fikr al-Takfiri 'Enda al-Shi'ah: Haqiqatun am Iftiraa has described many Shiite scholars as being takfiri. This research aims to abort this accusation and its destructive role in destroying the unity of the Muslim Ummah. In this study, which has been carried out using analytical – descriptive method, it has been demonstrated that all Shiite scholars consider Ahl-e Sunnah to be Muslims. Shiite scholars consider only the Nasibis and the antagonists to be out of the pale of Islam, and if they have used the term 'kufr' to refer to any groups other than these two, it has been a usage of the term 'kufr' against faith (iman).

One of the most important issues discussed in connection with bid'ah (innovation) are its pillars or elements which, if misunderstood, can lead to deviations, overindulgence and extremities within Muslim communities. This article examines the criteria of bid'ah from the perspectives of the Quran and prophetic traditions hoping to spread awareness and prevent Muslims from going to extremes. The basic elements, according to Islamic literature and sources, are lacking origination in the religion, introducing something new and considering it as a part of the religion, intention, dissemination, constancy, opposition to the main goals of Shari'ah and its non-existence in the first three centuries. The conclusion drawn after studying the verses and traditions is that lacking origination in the religion, being new, addition to and omission from the religion and conscious ascription to the religion can be considered as the basic elements of bid'ah while, contrary to what some believe, dissemination, constancy, opposition to the goals of the Shari'ah and not being in the early three centuries are not among the elements or pillars of bid'ah.

One of the most important justifications presented by Wahhabis about traditions that suggest permissibility of swearing in the name of anyone other than Allah is abrogation of such traditions. Such a claim by Wahhabis is unfounded and baseless. For this reason, the present article makes a critical analysis of Wahhabi arguments. Thus, relying on sources which are authentic according to Wahhabism as well as on the words of some of its prominent scholars, it seeks to prove that the claim about the abrogation of the narrations on the permissibility of taking oath in the name of an entity other than God, is opposed to the fundamental principles of Wahhabism and the principle of superiority of the predecessors over the later generations of scholars. As well, not only Wahhabism does not have any proofs for their claims but also the consequences of their opinion are utterly destructive.

Absolute subservience to the juridical views of the four schools of jurisprudence is not consistent with the teachings of Islam. Nonetheless, majority of Sunni Muslims follow one of the leaders or imams of the four schools binding their practice with the jurisprudential rulings of the four schools. Ibn Taymiyyah has opposed the Sunni method considering taqlid (following) of the four imams as invalid and incorrect. He has gone to extremes in opposing Ahl-e Sunnah since he, sometimes, considers the followers of the four leaders as heretics who must repent for such acts. Sometimes, he calls them apostates and other times he describes them as the people of innovation (ahl-e bid'ah). That is when labeling a Muslim as a disbeliever and apostate has been forbidden in multiple traditions, so much that it has been narrated that if someone ascribes infidelity and apostasy to someone, he is more entitled to be called a disbeliever and an apostate. Labeling Muslims as innovators is also inappropriate because every act that did not use to be practiced in the time of the predecessors does not mean that it is unlawful or evil. Perhaps, there might be something that may have come into being after the Salaf period but no one has claimed that it is bid'ah. This research uses analytical – descriptive method to study Ibn Taymiyyah's opinion about the followers of the four schools of jurisprudence, and it has proved that embarking on excommunicating others while encountering Muslim is not appropriate.
