Wind energy as a main part of renewable energy has important role in many electricity industries, because of increasing concerns about environmental impacts of conventional power plants fuels. Wind power integration in the electricity system operation has some technical and economic effects because of the intermittent and variety nature of wind power production. Therefore, it is important for every utility or system operator to consider these technical or economical aspects especially as unit commitment problem. One of the most important strategies for increasing profits of each utility is integrating the wind power resources with limited energy resources such as pumped storage (PS) plants. Pumped storage can provide some of the flexibility that power system operators need to balance load and generation in an uncertain environment, and thus enhance a power system’s ability to incorporate wind power. This paper presents a new approach for solving the weekly unit commitment including wind farms and PS plants. For this purpose, the modified PSO mechanism is recommended. The proposed PSO is applied to two test systems (which are included two wind farms and one PS plant) and the results of this modified PSO are compared with the conventional PSO. Evaluation of the results of these test systems’ solutions show that better optimal schedules are obtained.

Time continuous filters are suitable for use at medium speeds and low power consumption. One of these filters which is designed by MOSFET transistors based on CMOS technology, is the Gm-C filters that have been used in the industry for a long time. Such transistors are biased in the inverted area and creating a wide bandwidth to several hundred MHz. In this paper, we simulate the Gm-C low pass filter with a 10 MHz cut-off frequency for Bluetooth and CMOS applications with a power consumption of 110 VW for a single-volt source in wide tuning range. The use of the MOSFET and its bias in the downstream area is considered in this study in order to reduce the power consumption significantly. This operation will lead to the application of this method in wireless technology.

The main purpose of this research is designing the sliding mode controller for a Quasi-Z-source converter. For this purpose, we first introduce a Quasi-Z-source converter. These converters, similar to the source Z (ZSC) exchangers, are composed of connecting an impedance network to a voltage and a current source. The advantages of comparing the Quasi-Z-source converter with Z source converters are: installing input flow (in the source type voltage), reducing nominal values for I, V circuit (inductance and capacitor), and generating high voltage gain. These advantages have led to use these converters in photovoltaic applications, wind turbines and hybrid electric vehicles. The Quasi-Z-source converter is extracted from the transducer's moderate model and accordingly, the slider mode controller is designed. Finally, the results resembled the accuracy of the controller function for the converter is shown for two different duty cycles.

In this paper, nanosecond pulse power generators and their applications are reviewed. Generally, in pulse generating circuits, the Drift-Steps-Recovery diodes (DSRDs) play an important role as the opening switches. The simulation of a pulse generating circuit using (DSRDs) is done by using MATLAB software. A generating circuit of unipolar and then bipolar pulses are simulated and discussed. Whereas in all simulations we focus on a pulse generator circuit because of its important application.

In this paper, details of designing a four-opening broadband active circulator are investigated. The proposed model works in the 2-26GHz frequency band and also amplifies the output wave to 11.35 ± 0.018, which is one of the advantages of the designed model. Common circulators are passive ones with disadvantages of the limited bandwidth, frequency dependency and large dimensions in the case of large number of openings. Also, either increasing or decreasing the number of openings requires redesigning of the circulator. However, for the proposed model in this paper, the bandwidth is increased, the dimensions are reduced and the number of craters can easily be changed.

A management protocol level connection line with universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) terrestrial radio access network is required in order to enable user’s connection in UMTS networks which is performed by transferring data streams among some pre-shared channels. In this paper international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) is obtained by an intelligence supervise interception so that if the user identity is not allowed, the connection would be terminated by supervisor. The advantage of this method in comparison with traditional approaches is in attacking connection while it is not in safe layer. In other words, rejection of connection will be performed before any network capacity loss. Our investigation proved that the proposed method results in reduction of computational complexity and energy usage of networks. Furthermore, the probability of network intrusion is also improved.
