In this study, a simple and efficient one-pot synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyrans from the three-component reaction between dimedone, different aromatic aldehydes and malonitril compounds using NH4Al(SO4)2•12H2O (Alum) as a catalyst at 80 °C is described. As a part of our research works in the synthesis of pyrimidine derivatives containing biological activities, a series of novel pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives 2 were synthesized via reaction of tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyrano derivatives 1 with different reagents in suitable yields. The structures of the entire synthesized compound were well analyzed and their structures established by using various spectral techniques (1H NMR, 13C NMR and IR). Furthermore, all compounds were evaluated for their in vitro antimicrobial activity against different bacterial strains. Antibacterial behavior of product was studied based on reference Gram-positive and Gram- negative bacteria.

Nanostructure materials have attracted special attention in recent years due to theirphenomenal properties that makes them suitable to be applied for food packaging as they enhancethe mechanical, thermal and gas barriers properties, with no threat able to become non-toxic andbiodegradable. In this article, different types of polymers including natural, synthetic and semi-synthesispolymers as well as various types of nanocomposites and bio-composites have been discussed. Moreover, several applications of nanocomposites in food packaging and food safety are reviewed inwhich nanomaterials are employed as potent antimicrobial agents, as well as the detection of foodrelevantanalytes in smart food packaging [1-5].

The effect of gypsum loading on curing characteristics and physico-mechanical propertiesof natural rubber vulcanisates were investigated over a range of filler loadings from 0 to 40 phr. Changeswith minimum torque (ML), maximum torque (MH), scorch time (ts2), 90% cure time (tc90) and curing rateindex (CRI), tensile strength, young modulus at 300% elongation (M300), elongation at break, hardnessand rebound resilience with the filler loadings were investigated. The results revealed that the valuesof both the minimum torque and the maximum torque increased with the filler loadings. However, thescorch time was found to decrease and 90% cure time was almost unchanged with increasing fillerloadings. The tensile moduli at 300% elongation and hardness increased, whereas, tensile strength, elongation at break and rebound resilience dropped with the addition of filler loadings.

A cold vapor atomic absorption spectrophotometric (CVAAS) method for the determinationof trace Hg(II) after adsorption of magnetic nano- Fe3O4 -DOP- DTA has been developed. The as magneticnano- Fe3O4-DOP-DTA have a good capacity to retain Hg2+, but the raw and purified as magnetic nano-Fe3O4-DOP- DTA are found not to adsorb Hg2+ ions. This was treated with diethylenetriamine (DTA) inanother solvent-free procedure for the formation of a novel nano-Fe3O4-DOP-DTA. Cold vapor atomicabsorption spectrometry (CVAAS) was utilized for determination of Hg2+. The effects of solution pHsolution, elution conditions on pre-concentration of trace Hg2+ were studied and the effect of interferingions was also investigated. Preconcentration factor was 200 .The method was successfully appliedto the recovery of Hg2+ in different type of water samples. Graphene oxide and its derivate such asmagnetic nano- Fe3O4 -DOP- DTA in this study is full of potential to use as an excellent adsorbent in theextraction method like solid phase extraction (SPE) and solid phase micro extraction (SPME).

Adaptability to a dwelling space depends on two main groups of variables: physicalattributes of a space and family status. This article intends to focus on human and architectural aspectsof housing projects. It evaluates selected case studies according to economic and flexibility parameters. The housing needs and requirements of a family may change gradually according to the family structure.Users get adapted to their living place by having a chance of changing the physical characteristics oftheir environments to create more adaptable spaces. Flexibility, as a quality characteristic of a space, and economy are two factors effective in achieving an adaptable environment. This study presents theresults of a comparative analysis of three types of residential projects by evaluating 10 housing units ofeach, which have different plan organizations and physical characteristics. Factors of families’ structureand spatial organization of the housing units in terms of size and physical characteristics of dwellingspaces have been evaluated. Comparisons have been made to find out the level of changes made to theplan types in regard to the level of spatial flexibility of the projects. The users’ expectations, their familystatus and structure have also been evaluated through face-to-face interviews. This study is based onthe data of a comprehensive post-occupancy evaluation of 5- to 20-year-old housing settlements in 3different neighborhoods in Tabriz, Iran.

In this study, M kind of hexaferrite strontium with the formula of SrFe12-x(ZrCo0.5M0.5)0.5XO19by Sol-Gel self-combustion in pH=7 was synthesized and the influence of substitution of iron (III) ionsby M= Mn2+ with various amounts (x=0.2, 1, 1.8) was investigated. In addition, structural features, bondsituation, particles morphology and electromagnetic traits of frail product were studied by using X-raypowder, diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Field Emission ScanningElectron Microscopes (FE-SEM) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM) analysis. The result of XRD showedthe formation of hexaferrite strontium phase and (VSM) analysis illustrates the amount of (Ms) and (Mr)increased in comparison with pure sample and it can be seen that (Ms) and (Mr) reduced when theamount of X increased. Therefore, the optimal level of magnetism for the sample of magnesium will bein X=0.4 and Hc reduced by enhancing X from 0.2 to 1.6 which showed that the prepared nanoparticlebecame softer as the amount of X increased.
