Context:
This study aims to investigate the implementation and effectiveness of hospital dentistry (HD) in the Armed Forces, incorporating an integrative literature review and a detailed case report. It seeks to highlight the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to oral and systemic health in military patients, as well as identify significant gaps in current research that need to be addressed to achieve improved healthcare outcomes.
Evidence Acquisition:
An integrative review methodology was adopted, with articles selected through the PubMed/MEDLINE and Scielo databases using specific inclusion and exclusion criteria focused on the practice of HD in military settings. This approach ensured a comprehensive understanding of the existing literature. Simultaneously, a case report of an elderly patient treated within the military context was presented, detailing the diagnosis, intervention, and outcomes of HD, thus providing a practical example of the concepts discussed in the review.
ResultsThe literature review revealed a scarcity of specific studies on HD in military settings, despite evidence highlighting the crucial role of an interdisciplinary team, including dentists, for the effective treatment of oral conditions affecting the overall health of patients. This lack of research underscores the need for further studies to address these gaps. The case report demonstrated the positive impact of HD on the patient's recovery, emphasizing the critical need for its integration into military healthcare to achieve improved patient outcomes.
ConclusionsThe integration of HD in military settings is essential but currently underutilized. The research emphasizes the need to develop and document HD practices that enhance both the oral and systemic health of military personnel, promoting a more comprehensive and interdisciplinary care approach. This integration can lead to better health outcomes, reduced hospital stays, and overall improved quality of life for military patients.

Primary dysmenorrhea is the most common complaint related to menstrual disorders among women and young girls. The goal of this research was to examine the effect of yoga exercises on menstrual pain and distress in female students aged 20 - 35 years with primary dysmenorrhea, both with and without lumbar hyperlordosis. Despite the research and studies conducted in the field of primary dysmenorrhea, many aspects of the condition remain unknown. This study aims to provide new insights for the audience.
ObjectivesThe aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a course of yoga exercises on menstrual pain and distress in women with primary dysmenorrhea, both with and without lumbar hyperlordosis.
MethodsThe statistical population of the present study included 60 eligible female patients aged 20 to 35 years, selected through available and targeted sampling. Participants were divided into an experimental group (15 individuals with hyperlordosis and 15 individuals without hyperlordosis) and a control group (15 individuals). Those with hyperlordosis had a lumbar lordosis angle above 30 degrees. Patients in the experimental group participated in yoga exercises for eight weeks, with three sessions per week, each lasting one hour. Variables were evaluated before and after the eight-week intervention. Menstrual pain, menstrual distress, and lumbar lordosis were measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), the Menstrual Distress Questionnaire (MMDQ), and a flexible ruler, respectively. Data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk test, covariance analysis, and paired t-tests to compare the variables. The final results were confirmed using covariance analysis.
ResultsThe findings demonstrated that yoga exercises in the experimental group led to a significant reduction in menstrual pain, menstrual distress, and the lumbar lordosis angle after the intervention (P ≤ 0.05).
ConclusionsBased on the findings of the current research, yoga exercises, as a non-invasive method, significantly improved menstrual pain, menstrual distress, and the lumbar lordosis angle in the experimental group.

Health tourism holds significant potential for Iran due to its advanced medical capabilities, yet its market share remains limited. The metaverse offers a novel digital platform to enhance marketing efforts.
ObjectivesThis study aims to identify and rank marketing opportunities in Iran's health tourism industry using metaverse technology.
MethodsConducted in 2024, this research employed a mixed-methods approach. The qualitative phase involved semi-structured interviews with experts in technology and health tourism marketing, analyzed using Graneheim and Lundman's content analysis method. Purposeful and snowball sampling methods were used to ensure diverse expert perspectives. In the quantitative phase, Shannon entropy was used to prioritize the identified opportunities.
ResultsAnalysis of 11 interviews revealed 215 open codes, categorized into three main groups: Opportunities related to health tourism businesses (66 codes), health tourists (82 codes), and health tourism service providers (71 codes). Subcategories included social, cultural, economic, environmental, and infrastructure factors. Shannon entropy prioritization highlighted the most significant opportunities related to health tourism service providers, followed by businesses and tourists.
ConclusionsMetaverse technology presents unique marketing opportunities in the health tourism sector. It facilitates better interaction between service providers and patients, enabling virtual consultations and hospital tours. Implementing this technology could enhance Iran's competitive edge in health tourism marketing. Future research should focus on the practical applications of metaverse technology in this field.

Neck pain was the second most common form of musculoskeletal injury reported in professional violinists. Neck pain has been identified as the second most frequent musculoskeletal disorder in professional violinists.
ObjectivesThis study examines the effect of yoga exercises and neck stabilization on the range of neck movements, accuracy of head movement, and pain in the neck muscles.
MethodsA total of 45 male violinists aged 18 - 25 with non-specific chronic neck pain participated in this study. All active neck range of motion movements (flexion, extension, lateral flexion, and right and left rotation), accuracy of head movements, and pain were assessed using a goniometer and photogrammetry, the head angle reconstruction test, and the visual pain index, both before and after six weeks of selected yoga exercises and neck stabilization training.
ResultsAfter six weeks of selected yoga and stabilization exercises, significant improvements were observed in the range of neck movement (P < 0.05), accuracy of head movements (P < 0.05), and pain reduction (P < 0.05) among violin players with non-specific chronic neck pain.
ConclusionsThe results indicate that yoga exercises and neck stabilization exercises yield effective results in increasing neck range of motion, enhancing the accuracy of head movement, and reducing pain. Therefore, incorporating yoga exercises as a supplementary exercise therapy is recommended to improve symptoms and disorders associated with non-specific chronic neck pain.

End-of-life care is a critical component of nursing within healthcare systems. The attitudes of nursing students towards this care significantly impact the quality of nursing services they provide.
ObjectivesThis study aimed to assess the attitudes of Iranian nursing students towards end-of-life care.
MethodsA cross-sectional design was used to collect data from 230 nursing students enrolled at the Islamic Azad University's Medical Sciences Faculty in Karaj, Iran, between April 24 and June 10, 2023. Participants were selected through convenience sampling. A self-administered questionnaire was employed, which included demographic information and the Iranian-adapted Frommelt Attitudes Toward Care of the Dying Scale form B-I (FATCOD-BI). Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 26.
ResultsThe study achieved an effective response rate of 86.95%. The mean FATCOD-BI score was 98.76 (SD = 9.91), with a range of 74 to 138. Statistical analysis revealed significant differences in attitudes towards end-of-life care based on gender (P = 0.036), academic semester (P = 0.027), and prior training received (P = 0.037).
ConclusionsNursing students demonstrated a generally positive attitude towards end-of-life care. This attitude was influenced by factors such as the level of education, gender, and prior training. Aligning nursing education with real-world professional demands is essential to closing the theoretical-practical gap. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating end-of-life care modules into the undergraduate nursing curriculum, highlighting a key priority for curriculum planners and nursing education policymakers.
