Pages 1-15This article presents the findings of a study on access to and utilization of information in blogs among university students, as well as how students can cultivate critical literacy towards content and information in blogs. Through interviews with 203 students in the cities of Surabaya and Malang, this study reveals that students' frequency of accessing blogs is consistently increasing, and there is a growing pragmatism that could potentially compromise scholarly integrity within the higher education domain. For students with digital literacy and a pragmatic approach, blogs are often perceived as highly beneficial, particularly when facing tight assignment deadlines. Accessing a blog and navigating the provided links is a practical and swift method for students to locate the required references. The students know that blogs should not be used as primary references for completing academic tasks at the university. However, with critical literacy skills they possess, many students attempt to use blog information by paraphrasing and editing. Blogs owned by respected intellectuals and blog entries supported by accurate literature are regarded by students as highly valuable and reliable sources for guidance in writing and finalizing academic assignments from their lecturers. Keywords: Blogs, University Students, Digital Literacy, Critical Literacy

Pages 91-107Stop words are primarily non-significant words used to connect other words in sentence construction. Since these words do not contain specific information about the text, they are typically removed during text processing. Therefore, identifying stop words is an essential operation in text processing. A challenge arises when usually insignificant words can become significant depending on the situation, while words that are typically important can sometimes be classified as stop words. This problem is particularly pronounced in Persian due to the complexities inherent in the language. Recognizing the importance of identifying stop words in Persian, we analyzed and reviewed various approaches, including a dictionary-based approach, POS tagging-based approach, Word2Vec-based approach and FastText-based approach to identify stop words using a corpus of 50.000 Persian sentences from Hamshahri dataset. Our findings indicate that the FastText-based approach outperformed the others with a detection accuracy of 96.98, suggesting that this method can lead to the development of an automatic, reliable, and efficient system. Keywords: Stop Words, Content Words, Persian Language Processing, POS Tagging, Word2vec, Fasttext

Search strategy is one of the main criteria for quality assessment of meta-analyses and systematic reviews. This descriptive-analytical research aims to investigate the status and errors of search strategy in Persian medical meta-analyses and systematic reviews indexed in The Scientific Information Database (SID) until February 2023. A total of 421 articles were identified. A checklist containing 31 items was used to collect the data. It is established based on a similar study and getting experts' opinions to check the status of search strategy reporting in articles and collaboration of librarians. Using SPSS version 25, descriptive statistics was used to analyze the data. The results showed that 15.9% of articles reported the systematic search strategy; 97.1% of the reviewed articles did not mention the collaboration of librarians in formulating the search strategies. 17.3% of articles had complete comprehensiveness regarding the number of databases used. The most common errors in PubMed and Scopus were “Not using controlled keywords,” but in the Web of Science database, it was “Not using all the concepts and keywords related to the subject”. The final result is that in most Persian medical meta-analyses and systematic reviews, the search strategy does not have a proper status in terms of reporting in the article and errors, which can influence the recall and reduce the quality of this type of article. Not having enough skills in how to search effectively and not using librarians in searching can be the cause of this situation.
