The term “common law and convention” plays a practical and effective role in the process of deducing rules in Islamic sects. In this article, the authority of common law will be studied in two chapters from different perspectives. The term “common law and convention” and its differences with intellectual proof are studied in first chapter. The second chapter will deal with the comparative study of Twelvers (Shiite) and Sunnite outlook and qualifications, common law proofs and freewill in principal sources of Islamic sects.

Dualism is a sort of wise and epistemological doctrine, which stands on the side of monotheism, atheism, and unity of existence. Dualism doctrine has had its regular followers among ancient tribes, so it’s not confined to the period of Islam. The present article has made an attempt to distinguish and classify the course of dualism.

The word “supplication” has been stated twice in Quran. This term is defined as gaining access, claiming status and getting closer to someone or something by means of something else. Studying Islamic sources in depth, we find out that supplication is of different types. Some types are considered permissible and some forbidden, and there are different ideas about some other. Supplication to the holy prophet, to descendants of the holy prophet and to the prayers related to the holy prophet is a case of disagreement about supplication. Islamic traditions imply no fault with the supplication to the holy prophet and the patrons. From the early Islam, the companions, followers and other Muslims followed this lifestyle, but Ibn-Timieh prohibited it in 8th century and created a gap between the Muslims. Mohammad Ibn-Abdul Vahab deteriorated the situation and widened the gap between Muslims.

Sunnites are divided into two sects of Ash’arites and Matridites. Although these two agree on basic issues, there are so many doctrinal differences between them. There are disputes among Sunnite scholars about some religious personalities, being Matridite or Ash’arite. One of them is Sa’dodin Masood Ibn-Omar Taftazani who was a wise and knowing religious scholar. Referring to Taftazani’s ideas, this article studies his school and concludes that he was Ash’arite. His support for Ash’arites is a case in point.

Mobaheleh verse is one of the main proofs implying the virtue and excellence of Ahlulbayt. Sunnites and Shiite interpreters have been dealing with this verse painstakingly. The importance of the Mobaheleh verse leads us to a comparative study, both through the viewpoint of Shiites and Sunnites. We’ll discuss the question and resemblances and draw a conclusion afterwards. We should bear in mind that it seems impossible to apply this verse to the authority and leadership of Ahlulbayt due to the apparent meaning that supports only the virtue and excellence of Ahlulbayt. Considering the interpretation of the text and its applicability with others, we can use this verse as a supporter of the authority and leadership of the Ahlulbayt.

The article discusses the issue of salvation and prosperity, its facilitators and obstacles from the two major monoist religions perspective, Islam and Christianity. Christianity sees salvation as a mean to purify the man from the sins and considers “faith” and “sacrifice” as facilitators and “sin” and “Sharia” (set of religious rules) as obstacles to salvation. But Islam regards salvation as a mean to free man from all physical and spiritual pains and difficulties of the hereafter. “Faith”, “good deeds”, “repentance” and “intercession” are facilitators and “sins”, “atheism” and “hypocrisy” are considered as obstacles to salvation.

Prayer in which man worships his creator is the main criteria for acceptance and rejection of our other acts. Observed prayer has its own virtue in different times and places, but its excellence is doubled in Ramadan. One of the prayers Muslims observe in Ramadan is called “nightly prayers”. It is originally accepted by all Muslims, but there are some minor disagreements and disputes over matters such as the number of rak’ats and its communal observance. This article tries to study the disputes, providing the history and the scholar’s ideas about the “nightly prayers of Ramadan”.

After the death of the holy prophet (pubh) there aroused various jurisdiction schools and approaches. Some set rules by referring to Quran, prophetic hadith and personal conjectural principles, if the two latter are absent. But the other group exonerated its rules from personal suppositions by referring to traditions of Ahlulbayt (the family of the prophet). This article enumerates the privileges of the second group, i.e. Shiite jurisdiction.

This article has made an attempt to study politics and jurisdiction comparatively through the political views of Imam Khomeini (pubh) and Ghazali. Examining their views, we conclude that jurisdiction and politics reside in the area of intellectual wisdom and politics is a dependant of jurisdiction. To clarify this relationship, we try to discuss some related issues such as the nature of political jurisdiction, political acts and legal politics.

This article has made an attempt to study the effective role of human differences and different interpretations in the creation of intellectual schools. Although the impact of this factor can be studied from different perspectives, i.e., theological, political, law and the formation of different behaviors, the present article attempts to study it theoretically in Muslim community and culture. Making full use of the contents of Quran and traditions, the author seeks for the idea of Islamic sources about human differences. The study suggests that Quran admits different levels and understanding of man its consequences in Muslim ideas and thoughts. Everlasting dispute of "hearing and intellect" and consequently some other philosophical courses in the first century after emigration of holy prophet are some cases the author attempts to study.

Sunnite and Shiite interpreters have some commonalities about the cave verse, although the Shiite interpretation is in part far from the Sunnite view. Due to this dispute (especially when related to the issue of caliphate), Sunnite and Shiite scholars have focused on this verse.Sunnites believe that the cave verse represents the high virtue of Ababakr and therefore regard him as one of the selected followers of the holy prophet and use the verse as a proof for his caliphate. But according to Shiite interpretation, there is not only no virtue for him in this verse, but it shows God neglected some people like Ababakr. Apparently Sunnite scholar's presumption and affection for Ababakr as the first caliph have influenced their interpretation about the cave verse. Definitely if Ababakr hadnt been a caliph, their interpretation would have been much different.
