Direct flux and torque control (DTC) of induction motor is one of the most effective methods in control of this electric machine. Using DTC the restrictions and complexities of vector control can be avoided. In this paper، the algorithm of direct torque control of an asymmetrical six-phase induction motor with a two-level voltage source inverter is presented. The stator winding of an asymmetrical six-phase induction motor consists of two three-phase winding sets which have 30 degrees phase displacement. The machine is modeled based on vector space decomposition (VSD) theory. Selecting suitable switching vectors the flux and torque of the motor are controlled properly. The simulation results prove this statement.

Constant current and constant voltage- frequency (V-f) control strategies are important control strategies of DG interface that considered in islanding system and connected to network modes in this paper. Constant current control strategy is suitable in connected to network mode; because DG voltage and frequency are equal to voltage and frequency of network. Constant voltage-frequency (V-f) control strategy is suitable in islanding system mode. To evidence of above subject، different scenarios simulated in PSCAD/EMTDC software. These scenarios analyzed different control strategies to distinguish islanding and not to distinguish it.

In this paper، a hierarchical control scheme consisting of primary and secondary levels is proposed for compensation of voltage harmonics in islanded microgrids. The primary control level comprises Distributed Generators (DGs) local controllers. Each of these controllers includes a harmonic virtual impedance loop which is considered to improve nonlinear load sharing among the DGs، but، at the expense of increasing the voltage harmonic distortion. The secondary control level manages the compensation of voltage harmonics by sending proper control signals to the primary level. Since، the microgrid may supply sensitive loads; the compensation is performed to reduce load bus main voltage harmonics. The procedure of setting control system parameters is presented and simulation results are provided in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

In this paper a novel technique for droop control in islanded Microgrids (MGs) based on neurofuzzy technique is presented. With a proper training، this technique can prevent network from instability and collapse during violent changes in load. Main MGs challenge in the islanded mode is the lack of backup power، where due to change in load، an imbalance occurs between consumption and generation. The imbalance leads to voltage and frequency fluctuations. Increasing the imbalance may lead to the system instability. Therefore، existence a reliable control structure to prevent the system instability and collapse is needed. The proposed neuro-fuzzy control structure is designed to maintain the system stability and minimizing voltage and frequency fluctuations regardless of MG type and its structure. The most important advantage of the proposed controller is its independency from the MG structure and operating conditions.

Stochastic nature of wind farms generation، increases imbalance cost and risk of these plants in the power market. If these units are scheduled with other units coordinately، imbalance cost and risk of these plants decreases. Therefore، in this paper، a new optimal bidding strategy is proposed for joint operation (JO) of wind farms and pump-storage power plants. The goal of this program is maximizing the benefit and minimizing the risk of these units in the day-ahead energy and ancillary service markets. In this paper، in order to construct more reliable wind scenarios، the value of the wind generation is forecasted by ARMA method. Furthermore، Weibull distribution is used to approximate wind scenarios. The performance of the proposed bidding strategy is tested and evaluated on pump-storages and wind farms of IEEE 118-bus standard system. The results verify that the joint operations of pump-storage and wind farm (risk and benefit)، improve the benefit and the decreases the risk values of the system related to uncoordinated operation (UO) of pump-storage and wind farm.

method combines the two conventional chopper and Kramer methods to control the slip power of the motor. The mentioned method acts in two modes، first the drive is forced to chopper control for starting up the motor and then the system switches to the Kramer control when motor passes the 80% of the reference speed. The combined converter eliminates the conventional resistor starters of the traditional Kramer converters and also provides speed sensorless control of the drive. Furthermore a sensorless control scheme is proposed which eliminates DC offset problem of some conventional methods. Simulation results show that the system reduces some drawbacks of the two conventional methods. Finally a low power laboratory set-up is constructed to show some dynamic behaviors of the combined method. In the laboratory set-up، a chopper controlled converter is designed and using a real-time control system، speed sensorless control and start-up process is successfully performed.

It is necessary to predict the performance of a current transformer under transient conditions for appropriate protection. When a short circuit fault in the power system occurs، the current transformer approaches to saturation region and will be led to the secondary current distortion. Hence، it affects the protective relays operation and as a result، maloperation will occur for the protective relays. Thus، it needs an accurate model of current transformer under short circuit in order to analyze the protective relays operation. In this paper، An Accurate mathematical model is developed for a current transformer to predict the transient performance with a complex burden consisting of inductance and resistance، taking core saturation into account. A typical 1200/5 A current transformer will be simulated with various maximum offset fault currents. The secondary current and flux response will be computed for different values of burden impedance. To validate the method a comparison is made with ATP-EMTP time domain simulation program and with IEEE power system relaying committee current transformer model. The results give excellent agreement with the time domain simulation and IEEE model.
