Cultural studiesinthe folklore andpopular cultureis very importantandcantake ondifferent forms. One of these forms IS amythical study of popular culture. In this study we have tried to work on manifestations of the belief in “the spirit of tree” in Hormozgan folklore. The paper means to magnify the significance of re-reading the folklore and bring it to the attention of cultural and literary researchers both generally and specifically. To pave the way for a more serious study in humanities and cultural spheres of the province is another aim pursued in this paper. To summarize the gist of the present study we can say that the mythical belief in the spirit of the tree is of high frequency in Hormozgan folklore. This image has taken on nine common manifestations, namely, the marriage of trees, the ease of child delivery by the help of the trees, the presence of demons and male genies in the tree, the presence of elves and female demons in the tree, the integration of human destiny with a certain tree, the flow of life in the trees, the ban on annoying the trees for the sake of the aboding spirit, the execution and punishment of humans on the tree and making sacrifice to the trees and fields.

Fantasy lexically means illusion and imaginary thoughts. In literary forms it is a genre in which imaginary and real elements are used as the main theme. Fantasy includes works that are away from reality and will be represented by taking refuge to imagination, dreams, illusions and hallucinations. Hormozgan, as an ancient and civilized land in Iran, is rich regarding folklore stories. Though the writers and narrators of the works are unknown but some of the stories have been successful in giving a live picture of the life in the past and the way they used to think in Hormozgan. This paper means to first give a theory of fantasy and them introduce different kinds of that. In the next step we will work on the story of “Nil King” that has two narratives from Bastak and Khamir. The last part would be the extraction of fantasy elements from the story so that we can apply them to the whole body of the narrative. This study is part of my M.A. thesis entitled the same.

Iran and India have much in common, of which “Teymouri Era” is the most spectacular. Teymouri architecture is originally Iranian; that’s why researchers have no doubt that the prominent presence of Iranian art in India, especially in the reign of Homayoun, one of the Muslim kings of India, has been due to the presence of Iranian artists and their Iranian identity in the palace of the Indian kings. The emergence of Islam and its advent into Iran opened a new chapter in the history of the land. As far as the architecture of the time is concerned, Islam triggered the making of styles and works that later on spread through the world. Meanwhile the tie between Iranian and Indian art grew stronger and by entering a new phase, found new dimensions. Islamic-Indian art demonstrated in two reigning periods of Islamic kings. The first is the reign of GhotbaddinIbek in 1193. The rest of the dynasties in North and Central India continue the artistic manifestation of the time. The second phase is the hallmark of Islamic art and architecture of which the Building of TajMahal and paintings such as “Akbarnameh” and “Hamzehnameh” are emblematic. This era continues up to the reign of Zahiroddin in 1236 (Hijri).
