    Human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs), which also called mesenchymal stromal cells, are multipotent stem cell. Human MSCs typically are positive for the surface markers CD44, CD73, CD90, CD1, CD106, and also negative for hematopoietic markers CD34 and CD45.These cells can be isolated from postnatal bone marrow, adipose tissue, placenta, and scalp tissue, as well as from various fetal tissues. These nonhematopoietic stromal cells exhibit multilineage differentiation capacity, and capable to differentiate to a variety of tissues including bone, adipose, tendon, cartilage and other tissues. Each step of tissue specific differentiation of hMSC is associated with expression of specific markers. MSCs can modulate the immune function of the major cell populations by Immunomodulator Biomarkers. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are of great therapeutic potential due to their self- renewal and multilineage differentiation potency.

    Objectives
    The aim of this study was to compare the otitis media with effusion (OME) groups that improved when treated with adenoidectomy and Ventilation Tube (VT), to the group of the recurred after surgery and detect the possible role of allergy in OME. Patients and
    Methods
    This study was perfor med on two groups. The Patient group consisted of 38 patients with recurrent OME with allergy and control group made up of 38 patients with OME without allergy and no recurrence. Diagnosis of inhalant and food allergy include positive skin prick test, total IgE. The patients ranged from 11 months to 14 years of age. Blood samples were analyzed in patients for serum total IgE concentrations. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 16.0 version. Statistical significance was defined as P values less than 0.05.
    Results
    Fifteen (39.47%) patients had positive skin tests for both inhalant and food allergens in patients group. Five patients (13.15%) of the control group had a positive skin tests for both inhalant and food allergens. The mean concentration of serum IgE in study group was 379.5 IU/ml and in control group was 94.8 IU/ml. The results showed that allergic patients had four fold concentration than non-allergic group and this indicative of an allergic background in recurrent OME.
    Conclusion
    This study demonstrates that inhalant and food allergy may play a role in the pathogenesis of recurrent OME. Thus, the possibility of allergy should be considered in OME patients that did not improve with medical treatment and adenoidectomy and VT insertion.

    Objective
    The aim of this study was assessing clinical laboratory funding for differential diagnosis of sickle cell disease (SCD) and others associated disorders for better understanding of clinical types and prevention of sickling events. Patients and
    Methods
    This is a descriptive crossed-sectional study that analyzed the peripheral blood film, sickle cell preparation, hemoglobin electrophoresis, CBC, RBC indices serum ferritin related to clinical features on referral cases and their family from different parts of Khuzestan province. Twenty eight cases (SS) and others associated disorders, 16 (SIDA), sickle - thalassemia, 32 (Sβ +), 30 cases of (Sβ °) and 3 (AS), were studied from 1999 to 2002.
    Results
    Family reviewed showed 97% of sickle carrier states were among the ethnics Arabian origin, 10% Arab - Persian half breeds only 3% from old Persia in origin. Elevated HbF was seen in most of the patients that was prominent in SS rather than other associated heterozygote and sickle traits. About 85% of patient had HbF level more than 13%. MCV>80 MCH>27 were obtained in SS and sickle traits. Baseline WBC counts (neutrophils polymorphoneuclear) in SS individuals are elevated.
    Conclusions
    General appearance of these patients usually good looking Caucasian boys and girls with diagnosis of SCD others associated disorders.

    Objective
    In this study, we assess long-term effects of vertical dome division (V.D.D) and Suture techniques in patients with bulbous nose deformity and then compare the efficiency of these methods. Patients and
    Methods
    In this study 70 patients with bulbous nose deformity were divided into two equal groups of A and B in which group A with suture (transdomal and interdomal) technique and group B with VDD technique underwent surgery to correct the deformity.
    Results
    Among the 35, 2 patients in group A (% 7.5) has previous bulbous nose deformity remained stable of whom one patient resulted in revision surgery. Nasal tip over narrowing was not observed in this group. Overall satisfaction rate in this group of patients was approximately 92%. Of 35 patients in group B who underwent surgery using VDD method 8 months after surgery in all patients widening of nasal tip was reduced, but another complication as over narrowing nasal tip was observed in three patients (% 6.8) which in one case this led to revision surgery and in one case (%2.8) collapse of Lower lateral cartilage (LLC) was occurred. Overall satisfaction rate in this group was approximately 86%. There was no significant difference regarding satisfaction rate between these two study groups.
    Conclusion
    There are no significant differences between these two methods’ results in terms of over narrowing in nasal tip. In VDD method the dome can be narrowed to a higher level Compared with suture technique. Nondestructive methods such as suture both aesthetic and functional issue are little.

    Objective
    The present experimental study was designed to investigate to elucidative effect of 50 days of noise stress on fertilization capacity of rat and subsequent offspring quality.
    Material And Methods
    Two groups of 10 male rats were placed in two control and experimental groups for 50 days. In the experimental group, 90-120 dB sound intensity and frequency of 300-350 Hz by the device (daily at 7 pm to 7 am) was broadcasting. After this period, the male rats of both groups were exposed to the same breed female rats in a cage than 1:2 for mating. Every morning for 7 days the female rats with positive vaginal plaque were separated and after 19 days were killed by cervical dislocation method then uterus and ovaries were examined for the number of corpora lutea, dead and live fetuses, embryo resorption, implantation sites and fetus weight.
    Results
    Statistical studies showed that the noise stress significantly reduced the total number of embryos and alive embryos in the test group (p<0.05).As the number of dead embryos and embryos that are absorbed significantly are increased in rats which exposed to noise stress (p<0.05).
    Conclusion
    Results of this study have important implications for families attempting pregnancy. Stress pursuant to life events may have a negative impact on in vivo fertilization capacity of male rats and subsequent offspring quality.

    Objectives

    Methods
    This study was conducted in the Physiology research center in collaboration with thalassemia and hemoglobinopathies center, Ahwaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences (AJUMS), Ahwaz, Iran during the year of 2008. In this study, a group of 60 males occupationallyexposed radio-therapeutic and diagnostic workers with age ranging from 25-48 working since last 14 years on an average were recruited. They were matched with a group of 60 healthy control subjects in the same range of age, gender and ethnic origin. Both groups met with exclusion criteria as per standard. Hematological parameters were observed by using a blood cell auto analyser.
    Results
    The platelet and white blood cells count were decreased in radiation field workers with increased duration of exposure. Radiation field workers showed a statistically significant decrease (p<0.01, p<0.05) in the mean values of platelets count and White blood cells, respectively when in comparison to controls. However, no significant difference was observed in the rest of hematological parameters between the groups.
    Conclusion
    The present study suggests that radiation field workers should regularly get periodic medical surveillance including hematological profile with a focus on white blood cells and platelet. These measures would help to decrease the effects of occupational hazards of radiation and detect the disease in initial stage when treatment is achievable in the workers.

    The making of ear mould for hearing aids is generally considered to be a safe process. However, there are a few reported cases of complications caused during mould making. We report the case of a man with 69 years age, where the process of making the mould for a hearing aid led to the perforation of the tympanic membrane and pouring of mould material into the middle ear, necessitating surgical intervention. Proper fitting of hearing aids performed by well-trained medical professional that result in a very low incidence of significant complications. Perforation of the tympanic membrane with impaction of earmold material in the middle ear or mastoid bowl may occur and can be successfully managed by standard otology surgical techniques.
